Adolescent therapy is a specialized form of counseling designed to support pre-teens and teenagers (ages: 10-19) through the many challenges of adolescence, a critical period marked by a myriad of physical, emotional, and social changes. The goal is to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where adolescents can comfortably explore and share their feelings and connect with and confide in an adult in a way that is often difficult for them to do with their parents and other adult figures in their life.

Our Approach to Adolescent Therapy
Holistic and Integrative: We look at each adolescent holistically and work to address all facets of their life, including social and emotional development, school and academic support, self-esteem and identity, and the relationships in their life.
Active and Collaborative: Sessions tend to be more active, as we aim to strike a balance between listening, teaching, and empowering adolescents to navigate challenges effectively and appropriately and to embrace personal growth.
Family-Inclusive: We recognize the importance of family in an adolescent's life. Our approach involves collaboration with parents to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen family bonds. We work together with the adolescent and their family to set achievable and meaningful goals, ensuring that everyone is aligned and committed to the therapeutic process.
Encouraging Independence: Our approach fosters independence and self-efficacy, empowering adolescents to take control of their lives and make positive, informed decisions.
Individualized Treatment Plans and Evidence-Based Techniques: Every adolescent is unique, with their own experiences, challenges, and strengths. Our therapists work closely with each adolescent to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to their specific needs and goals. We utilize a number of different approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solutions-Focused Therapy (SFT).
